Grounds Crew

POSITION SUMMARY

Grounds Crew team members work directly with Crew Leaders to complete various tasks throughout the day. Superior Fresh Family Farms is an organization committed to re-establishing a healthier relationship to the lands we live on, the waters we live by, and the foods we eat. The 800-acre Northfield, WI site hosts several types of organic and closed-loop food production, as well as many acres of restored native habitats and native species propagation fields. Located in the beautiful driftless region, a large area covering three states where glaciers have never moved over the earth, the ancient soils and water found there have a stability and longevity that speaks to the spirit of Superior Fresh Family Farms and the food they work to produce.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: You must have basic reading, writing, and math skills, and be able to comprehend basic communication. College and high school students (especially those pursuing land conservation and natural resources) are encouraged to apply.

• Experience: You do not need to have any previous experience to apply. All skills needed to complete the task will be trained on the job.

• Licenses or Certifications:

  • ATV License, preferred.

  • Wisconsin Pesticide Applicator License, preferred.

POSITION DETAILS

• Status: Full-Time, Seasonal

• Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday

  • 7:00am - 3:30pm, with overtime as required

• Wage Grade: Starting pay is based on experience.

• Location: Hixton, WI

Primary Job Functionns

1. General grounds maintenance

2. Maintain the highest standard of grounds cleanliness, including maintenance around parking lots, plantings, flower beds, sidewalks, lakes, and trails.

3. Perform seasonal grounds duties including raking/shoveling, planting, water plantings, mowing, clean up debris/trash, weed whip, weed lawn/plantings.

4. Regularly clean up trash in ditches, roadsides, parking lots, and landscaped areas.

5. Assist with the daily maintenance and upkeep of equipment and tools used to perform daily tasks.

6. Upon completion of training – be able to safely operate all the department equipment including lawn mowers, weed whip, leaf blowers, chain saws, etc.

7. Responsible for completing daily assigned projects on time and with high expectations

8. Maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others (Maintain proper PPE)

9. Work well with other team members

10. Follow direction and communicates effectively with peers
